Flex Lock
A flex lock nut, also known as a flex-top lock nut or a distorted thread lock nut, is a type of fastener designed to provide locking capabilities and resistance to loosening in applications where vibration, movement, or external forces are present. Similar to other prevailing torque nuts, flex lock nuts are intended to maintain a secure connection between threaded components by creating friction and interference between the nut and the threaded part.
Flex lock nuts are used in various applications where vibration and movement are concerns, such as in automotive, aerospace, industrial machinery, and construction. They offer advantages over standard nuts by providing better resistance to loosening without the need for additional locking components, such as washers or thread-locking compounds.
